64bit)

Firstly, i cannot use the XML config to uninstall the TEAMS that was installed using the MSI installer. I was hoping that while uinstall all components of 32bit office using the XML config, Teams will be uninstalled as well, but this is not to be the case. OK, i will use the trusty Msiexec /x to uninstall Teams. And O365 has now been reinstalled as 64bit version.

Well, i cleared out all the TEAMS folders from one users APPDATA folder. Rebooted. When logged in, Teams did startup, as 64bit. Great!! Now, there is another user on the same PC, who has been using Teams on 32bit before. The second user logs in to the PC, and Teams is still 32bit. Has not been changed to 64bit. Is this because the TEAMS data has not been cleared from the second users APPDATA? If this is the case, is there a better approach to do this automatically?

On a 64bit Windows, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node contains values used by 32 bit applications running on the 64 bit system. Only true 64 bit applications store their values in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software directly. The subtree Wow6432Node is entirely transparent for 32 bit applications, 32 bit applications still see HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software as they expect it (it is a kind of redirection). In older versions of Windows as well as 32 bit Windows 7 (and Vista 32 bit) the subtree Wow6432Node obviously does not exist.

The 64-bit version of Windows handles large amounts of random access memory (RAM) more effectively than a 32-bit system. Most importantly your 32bit Windows will not see more than 4GB of memory, you will need 64bit Windows to be able to use more than 4GB of memory. To run a 64-bit version of Windows, your computer must have a 64-bit capable processor, 64bit Checker will allow you to easily check your computers compatibility with 64bit Windows.

until now, SAP GUI for Windows is only available as a 32bit version with the exception being the 64bit versions of the automation controls (Logon Control, Table Factory Control, BAPI Control and Function Control) that we introduced in SAP GUI for Windows 7.70.

Regardless of this, we keep getting requests for full 64bit support in SAP GUI for Windows and thus decided to implement, deliver and support such a version. For us this comes with a very high effort, because SAP GUI is huge in terms of codebase, but also when it comes to integrating third party content (which also needs adjustments).

When we started the project about a year ago we were uncertain whether we would be successful, but now I am running a 64bit version on my device since months without major issues and I can watch the functional scope keeping to grow and grow.At this point of time in the project lifetime we have reached a level of certainty that allows me to tell you that we are very likely going to have a 64bit version in SAP GUI for Windows 8.00 (scheduled delivery Q1/2023).

In our project still a lot remains to be done, but we have already achieved a lot and the present version is very promising. Therefore, we decided once more to offer a Beta Program for SAP GUI for Windows 8.00 with the main focus area being the 64bit version. We will run this program in July 2022 and likely call for participation in April or May 2022. Therefore, stay tuned!

no, this won't change - at least not due to the creation of a 64bit version of SAP GUI for Windows. And since the SAPscript integration is not directly a topic handled by the SAP GUI team, I do not want to answer your question (not that I could...).

But regarding the 3rd party software you refer to: At the moment it is not entirely certain whether the SAPScript Legacy Components (this is probably what you refer to) will make it into the 64bit world.

these are not SAP GUI restrictions, but restrictions of the server / the programming model overall.SAP GUI cannot do anything about this and a 64bit version won't change this either. You always need to keep in mind: SAP GUI displays what the server tells it to display.Simply put: If we get a wide screen, we display it wide, if we get a narrow screen, we display it narrow. The automatic wide rendering that was introduced in Belize (when SAP Fiori features are on) is also not a SAP GUI feature, but an SAP Kernel feature. The SAP Kernel / Application is doing all the layouting.

from installation (NWSAPSetup) perspective, the 64bit version of SAP GUI for Windows is a different "product". This is needed for several reasons (foremost one because the 32bit version still exists) and this also means that you cannot upgrade automatically. You first need to uninstall the 32bit version and the associated components and then you can install the 64bit version.

we got vulnerability on all the linux servers "Birthday attacks against TLS ciphers with 64bit block size vulnerability (Sweet32)""i have been searching here since long time but no use, its all confusing, there is no straight forward article how to remediate this.can some one come up with a proper explanation.

Now when I try to compile in TeXStudio (putting, for instance, "C:\texlive\2021\bin\win64\lualatex.exe" -synctex=1 -interaction=nonstopmode %.tex as the command for LuaLaTeX in TeXStudio settings), the files do not compile in LuaLaTeX (the log is stuck in an infinite cycle), pdfLaTeX does not even start, but 64bit XeLaTeX runs without a hitch.

As far as I understand, the 64bit binaries were not even supposed to run out of the box without some additional preparations. Hence, my question: as a user, what procedures should I implement after installing all of these files in order to make LuaLaTeX and pdfLaTeX in their 64bit versions compile without problems in TeXStudio?

It seems that by default 32bit COM objects are not usable in a 64bit environment. Trying to access a 32bit COM in a 64bit environment will result in a class not registered error. However, this can be countered using dllhost as a surrogate for the 32bit COM object. 2ff7e9595c
